One of the latest fashion trends for both men and women is the military fashion. This trend is evolving. This was proven at the recent Nigerian Fashion show and the Lagos Fashion week when different designers strut the runway with their models in brilliantly sophisticated collections, all in tasteful fabrics.
No doubt, the element of military history have stormed the imagination of the fashion world, reinterpreted and modernized or melded with futuristic twists.
An intriguing mix of deconstructed shapes and simple fabrics were worked into the designers’ latest collection. A combination of the military fashion trend and the more savage side of the tribal fashion trend, the new warrior leaves the formal and decorated style of military detailing behind.
Their vision of the warrior woman was much more romantic. Metallic detail on the dresses was subtly inspiring, detailed embellishment on the dresses, short and jacket were mouth watering.
The designers played with fabrics like cotton, leather, velvet, African fabrics amongst others, which was embellished with stones, trimmings, petals, leathers, sequins to mention a few. Their urban warrior takes the battle to the streets with gladiator tunics, plating, and makeup that hint at urban war paint.
Men collections was very masculine yet trendy and dramatic, complemented with interesting detailing; coming in different designs, colours and styles — bishop neck, button down jacket, double breasted pocket, matching force face cap, four pocket jacket amongst others.
